I was wondering if there is any way to g Answer: Since I cannot see your swing to comment on it, let me give you some general ideas that might help. First off, you have not had enough at bats to know if you are actually in a slump. Imagine that you were a pro baseball player. It might take 40 to 50 at bats to know you were actually in a true slump. And some of your line drive outs were great at bats - you should not worry about the outcome since it is out of your control. You should give yourself a pat on the back for those outs because they were high quality at bats. So stay positive because being positive and confident is the mental state good hitters always have when they go to the plate. Secondly, when hitters are suddenly not experiencing the same type of success they had previously, asuuming they have not made any major mechanical changes, they are almost always not watching the ball very well. Answer: The pitcher with the general goal of pitching at the college level should start around the 7th or 8th grade. This is the window of opportunity for the experienced instructor to modify general delivery mechanics. if needed, and help the pitcher achieve maximum velocity. The experienced instructor will help the athlete achieve peak perfor mance by combining the training in four critical areas: Technical - Mechanics and skill execution that will produce optimum velocity and control, as well as grip and release techniques for various types of pitches. Tactical - Strategy on how and when to use technical skills in competition. Mental - Ability to achieve focus on the task at hand, and maintain focus throughout the game. Mental toughness skills include handling pressure, rebounding from mistak es, and developing a high level of confide nce.
